There's no getting around it, no denying it...Soldier of Fortune II is the gaming definition of visceral. Its violent, guttural depiction of gunplay is about as intense and stomach churning as it comes. But more than this, Soldier of Fortune II is a game of action, a game of relentless shooting, a game riddled with blind corners, lurking enemies, devious snipers, and plenty of trouble.
Straightforward and linear by design, it's still difficult enough at times to warrant and justify this, the complete guide. A few frustrating points aside, the game is a real romp, one that at the higher difficulty levels will test the resolve of even the best of twitch shooters. But if you need a little help sneaking between the proverbial rock and the hard place, a little assistance with the cheats, or clever looks at the weapons and characters, then this is the place for you. The latest guides for the hottest games are available for IGN Insider subscribers. If you're not an Insider, you'll still want to check out IGN Guides, as we feature plenty of free and sponsored guides as well.
Activating and Using Cheats
First, it's necessary to add a bit to the developer command line so that you don't have to retype more every single time you wish to cheat. Don't worry, it's not rocket science. It's actually fairly easy to do. Right-click the shortcut to the game's .exe that you regularly run. This could be the one the game installs on your desktop, or even the one in your start menu. Find it, then right-click it and hit properties. You'll see a field called: "target:" That field should contain information that looks something like this:
This will differ from system to system. For instance, if you initially installed the game in your "sexygals" folder, it'd look like this:
Now, what you need to do here is add a bit to the end of this line. Specifically, you're going to add: sv_cheats 1 The end result should look like so:
Make sure you keep the spaces in the right places and don't overwrite anything. Whenever you start this game using this shortcut, you'll be able to take advantage of the cheats. And here's how. First you must start a level of the game in a certain way as the cheats are not accessible by beginning normal level loads or simply starting a new singleplayer campaign. Open the console by pressing the Shift key and the tilde ( ~ ) key simultaneously. Now type in raven 1. This will unlock all of the levels, accessible via the singleplayer setup screen (it's the Raven icon on the far right). The levels listed also go in order from beginning to end, so the top one is the opening sequence and the bottom is the end. Pick a level and prepare to play. Once one of these levels has been chosen and loaded, you can open the console at any time (Shift + ~) and type in any of the following to initiate a cheat.
That's all there is to it. It's possible to spawn specific items and warp to
specifics maps, but the give all and raven 1 menu essentially provide for
this.
